JAKARTA- In his visit to New York, INDONESIA's Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa did a meeting with Administrators of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Helen Clark.
"This meeting to follow up on the results of previous meetings between deal President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Helen Clark in April 2011 in Jakarta," said Foreign Minister Natalegawa in his written remarks to okezone, Saturday (4/2/2012).
In the meeting, the Government of INDONESIA and UNDP agreed to extend strategic partnership cooperation through country programme document. Cooperation is intended, among others, such as the achievement of the MDGs, poverty reduction, the development of democracy as well as the issues of prevention and the recovery crisis.
Environmental issues and climate change also became important in the discussion of the strategic partnership of cooperation.
The Government of INDONESIA and UNDP agreed that this strategic partnership aims to maximize the potential of Indonesia as a partner of global development.
In addition to these strategic partnerships also aimed to advance the development agenda both at global level as well as in the region, particularly in developing countries and least developed countries (LDCs).
"It provides an opportunity for Indonesia to continue to concentrate in global partnerships to advance the global development agenda," he added.
In addition to meeting with Clark, Foreign Minister scheduled will also meet with Secretary-general Ban Ki Moon in order to submit the instruments of ratification of the CTBT.
Foreign Minister meeting with Secretary-general Natalegawa Ban Ki Moon will also mengagendakan related discussion of the current global situation. In that opportunity, the Foreign Minister will hand over a letter from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to the Secretary-general.(rhs)
