Coal mines explode, 13 Workers were killed

BEIJING- The explosion occurred in a coal mines in the region of Southwest China. The incident killed roughly 13 coal miners working in the area.

"Eight other workers were injured, four in critical condition, while one person was reported missing in a blast that occurred in coal mines Diaoyutai in Sichuan province," said the local authority was quoted as saying by Xinhua, Saturday (4/2/2012).

Until now, the rescue operation was still continuing to do. However the cause of the crash is not yet known for sure.

Accidents that befall workers in coal mines in China as long as it is often the case. According to official statistics, data on 2010 around 2.433 workers were killed by an accident that occurred in coal mines in China.

While the Group defenders of workers ' rights in China, said the number of workers who were killed is likely much larger than the data on paper. In order to avoid a fine and closure of the mine locations the company party allegedly tried to hide the number of workers who died in the accident which occurred every incident.
