/ On : 3:29 AM.
QUETTA- A number of armed men reportedly kidnapped a foreign doctor who works for an International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Quetta, Pakistan.

Police received a report from one of the ICRC officials said, one of their employees kidnapped in Quetta, the Baluchistan Province.

"We've checked all the way across the city, but we haven't found the vehicle used by the doctor. We try to ensure that the vehicle did not leave, "said Quetta police official, Nazeer Kurds was quoted as saying Thursday Reuters, , (5/1/2012).

Yet there are those who claimed to be responsible for this abduction incident. But the case of the kidnapping of foreign workers in the province of Baluchistan is not the first time this happened.

Last week four health workers, including two doctors, was abducted by militant groups in the area of Pishin near Quetta, Baluchistan.

Baluchistan is Pakistan's largest province, but had the highest poverty rate in the country. The high poverty rate to be the cause of the emergence of a suspected criminal offence perpetrated by the separatist groups, including the Baluch kidnapping that ended with a ransom.(rhs)
