BUCHAREST- The demonstrators who do rallies protesting the austerity program that proclaimed by the Government involved clashes with police.
The clashes led to a dozen protesters, a cameraman, and four policemen were injured in the protest which took place in Bucharest, Romania.
"A police officer suffered severe head injuries and was hospitalized. Two other police were allowed to leave the hospital after receiving treatment, "said a spokesman for the police force, Georgian Enache, was quoted as saying AFP, Week, (15/1/2012).
Hundreds of people took to the streets in Romania in Bucharest to protest austerity measures and health reform initiated by the Government. The demonstrators also called on President Traian Basescu right down from his post.
The protesters also had their support against Raed Arafat who established the emergency medical services. Arafat, who is a doctor from Palestine earlier reported to have resigned after disputes with President Basescu regarding controversial health reform proposals.
Meanwhile, a retired, Rodica Patran says, her mind freeze and cutting of pesangonnya 25 percent the salaries of the public who made on the basis of Government policy.
"We can no longer live in poverty, is enough," he said.
Due to protests that around 30 demonstrators were detained by police. Action of protest against the austerity program and health reform was also hit several other cities in Romania(rhs)
