ElBaradei: Egypt Has Not Been Democratic!

CAIRO- The former head of nuclear watchdog of the United Nations (UN) and Nobel Peace Laureate Mohammed ElBaradei resigned from his candidacy for President of Egypt.

Announcement of resignation delivered on Saturday yesterday. ElBaradei revealed the reason for his resignation because there is still no democracy in the country's Pyramid.

"My conscience does not allow me to run for President or official position to another unless there is a real democracy," said ElBaradei was quoted as saying AFP, Week, (15/1/2012).

A reformed figure it said Egypt, there is no place for him in Egypt as a symbol of the political regime is still sitting in the old Government. ElBaradei also point out preparations to form a new Constitution failed to be implemented.

"No decision was taken to clean up the country's institutions, Government-owned media and the judiciary of the symbols of the old regime," he added.

ElBaradei rather than unfounded accusations, because the Supreme Council of the armed forces of Egypt (SCAF) chose to retain some of the figures in the regime governing Husni Mubarak in the Transitional Government. Moreover, ElBaradei criticized the repressive actions of the military ruler of Egypt who do prosecute the activist movement of the revolution. This reflects his disappointment to censure leadership SCAF.

SCAF has repeatedly pledged to hand over full power to the civilian Government when a new President was elected at the end of next June, but some assess the military still will retain his political role in the future.

ElBaradei regrettable resignation by many circles, as some citizens of Egypt judge ElBaradei is ideal to build Egypt sosol became a democracy.
