UNITED NATIONS: Mexico's most Dangerous for Journalists

MEXICO CITY -Mexico is considered a country that is not safe for journalists. Recorded 70 journalists killed since 2000.

These findings are issued by a panel of inquiry which was dilakikan by the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of the country of the Americas. The latest report mentions 13 journalists known to have died during this year. So reported Associated Press, Tuesday (25/10/2011).

While the motive of the murder committed against journalists is known to vary. But one of the factors which often appeared in the murder of the journalist did not escape the violence perpetrated by drug cartels in Mexico.

While the HUMAN RIGHTS Commission of Mexico also mention 70 journalists were killed in Mexico during 2000. But they added that currently there are 13 journalists are reportedly still missing.

Although currently ranks third on the order of Mexico were the most dangerous country for journalists, the Government of Mexico said the parties continue to perform a variety of ways to protect the journalist.

But according to the Chief Editor of the newspaper El Universal Roberto Rock, the protection provided by the Government of Mexico since 2010 then yet to fruition. Up to this point were continuous killing of journalists.

Due to the manner of Mexican drug cartel violence in Mexico this time is on the rise since the Government launched the war on drugs 2006. Rumoured 35 thousand people have died since President Felipe Calderon ordered war on the cartels.
