Asean Is Not A Panacea

JAKARTA -Director of Speech Between Asean Partner Jose Tavarez said, obstacles faced Indonesia as Asean Chairman pretty much or even very many, Asean also is not a panacea for issues regarding border disputes and cases of the death penalty verdict TKI.

"Do not view the Asean as a panacea that can solve all these problems. Asean forward because a consensus of Member States. "However, does not mean useless, Asean issues such as border could be resolved by bilateral forum or even the International Court of Justice (ICJ)," he added.

Jose also added, the advantages of Indonesia as Chairman of Asean. Jakarta has already become the Diplomatic Capital of South East Asia, as well as the New York becoming the headquarters of the United Nations (UN).

Many delegates from each country who come to our country and of course this would give economic revenue for Indonesia.

Asean summit to 19 will soon be held in Bali on 17 to 19 November.  On July 17, will be held meeting of Asean heads of State level.

While the next will be held November 18 meeting of the Asean partners, such as Asean and the Asean and China, the ROK and Japan.
