JAKARTA -Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa M will do a visit to Myanmar on 28 to 30 October. The visit was aimed at finding out the readiness of Myanmar who volunteered to be the Chairman of Asean.
"This visit, which is the mandate of the ASEAN Ministerial Conference to-44 of July 2011 in Bali, is intended inter alia to know the development and readiness of Burma to become Chairman of the ASEAN in 2014," explains the Kemlu in the description of the froma, Thursday (29/10/2011).
Seebelumnya Myanmmar has submitted a request to occupy the position of Chairman of the ASEAN sooner than scheduled. According to the schedule for Myanmar actually get its turn as Chair of Asean in 2016.
However, Myanmar had later changed his mind. They proposed the Exchange to be Chair of Asean in 2014 replace Laos.
While in Myanmar, the Foreign Minister of INDONESIA is scheduled to visit the honor to the President of Burma, H.E. U Thein Sein.
Foreign Minister of INDONESIA will also meet with Foreign Minister H.E. U Wunna Maung Lwin and some other Myanmar Ministers associated with the three pillars of the ASEAN Community.(faj)
