Singapore Back Filled Flood

SINGAPORE -brief but heavy Rain that struck Singapore on Friday, January 20, yesterday, causing some of the flood-stricken areas. This is generally rare in the country regularly.

According to the National Environment Agency (NEA) Singapore, rainfall reached 67 milimiter caused puddles in the area of Orchard Road. This area is usually the location of the Favorites for the citizens of Indonesia who love to shop.

"At the Raffles City, flooding also occurred. Puddles caused more, because of a clogged drain, "explained a spokesman for NEA Phyllis Cheong was quoted as saying The Straits Times, Saturday (21/1/2012).

"This is the first time a flood occurs (in Raffles City). The management will figure out the problems and make improvements, "he added.

Minister Balakrishnan said, Singapore will not suffer from the great flood, as it has done in land reclamation projects.

He added, the Government of Singapore also require the building owners to improve the resilience of building them from the danger of flooding.
