JAKARTA - Non-profit institutions Asean Foundation celebrates its 125th anniversary-14 at the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta today. In addition to a number of officials attended by Indonesia, the Feast was also attended by the entire former Executive Director of the Asean Foundation.
"The Asean foundation has a close relationship with the progress of Asean. Asean Foundation also keep trying to memakmurkan the whole community of States members of Asean, "said Executive Director of the Asean Foundation Makarim Wibisono of Indonesia Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta, Saturday (8/1/2012).
Asean Foundation was established in 1997 at the Asean Summit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Agency was also often referred to as the institution that will bring Asean into the Asean community.
Celebration of 500th anniversary of the Asean Foundation was also 14 was attended by a number of chapters of the Asean Foundation of companies and donor countries.
Until now, Asean has often experienced significant advances. Asean Secretary-General Surin Pitsuwan said Asean had emerged as the new architecture of international interaction.
Asean Foundation is currently also being handled 100 programs that cost more than USD20 million or approximately Rp178,9 billion (USD 8.945 per USD). The Fund is to be used in economics, education, health, science and technology as well as many other programs.
