Nigeria was struck by a bomb on Christmas day

ABUJA- A bomb exploded in the Catholic Church on the outskirts of the capital of Nigeria, Abuja during Christmas mass held on Sunday (25/12/2011).

Local authorities say they do not have a sufficient supply of ambulances to evacuate the dead and wounded by the bombing.

"Yes, I confirm to you that there has been a bomb blast in a church in Madala (suburb)," said a spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Yushau Shuaibu by phone Sunday, quoted Reuters (25/12/2011).

"We currently evacuating the dead and injured but unfortunately we do not have sufficient ambulance. Most ambulances are running on the main highway in Abuja, "he added.

Has yet to be known for sure who the mastermind behind the bombing but action Group Boko Haram Islamic Militants was the mastermind behind the district but a terror action.

Militant group accused of being the mastermind of Boko Haram for a series of acts of terror that recently took place in Nigeria.
