HONOLULU -Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated, Myanmar (Burma) United States (US) are prepared to become a partner of Myanmar. But this can only happen if the reform goes smoothly.
Speaking at the meeting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Honolulu, Hawaii, Clinton praised a series of changes that occur in the country formerly known as Burma.
For Clinton, the current political conditions in Myanmar still many flaws. Former first lady ACE it asked that Myanmar frees more political prisoners.
He also questioned whether the reforms in the Member countries of Asean is in went ahead and produce peace and reconciliation in areas of ethnic minorities.
"If the (Myanmar) Government continues to maintain the reform in the interest of its people, the US is ready to be partners," says Clinton AFPwas quoted as saying, Friday (11/11/2011).
Last year, the Government of Myanmar's military junta release democracy leaders Aung San Suu Kyi from house arrest. Then the junta has handed over power to civilian authorities, accompanied by a mass held elections.
Recently, the civil Government of Burma to free some 200 political prisoners in conjunction with around six thousand prisoners. In addition, Myanmar also had a chance to make its closest ally, China, upset by stopping the construction of the reservoir that it was not desired by the people.(faj)
