NEW YORK -Pakistan won the vote of a majority of the members of the Security Council United Nations (SECURITY COUNCIL) and the country was ready to join the SECURITY COUNCIL for a term of two years.
Pakistan, Morocco, Guatemala and Togo gained support from a majority of the members of the SECURITY COUNCIL. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan and Slovenia failed to get membership in the SECURITY COUNCIL.
The four countries will replace Bosnia, Brazil, Gabon, Lebanon and Nigeria on January 1, 2012. Pakistan also will be in a forum with its rival, India. Pakistan will also be dealing with the United States (u.s.) which is a permanent member of the SECURITY COUNCIL currently ranging often launch a censure to Pakistan related to the issue of militant activity. Pakistan would seem to be on the side of China who refuse the enforcement of sanctions or any sort of action proposed by the US against Iran and Syria. A diplomat also said, India is likely to cooperate with Pakistan in the SECURITY COUNCIL until 2012 because India is also located on the side of China in the case of Iran and Syria.
"I hope, we will work closely with both the Security Council, particularly with India," said Pakistan's Envoy to the United Nations Abdullah Hussain Haroon.
Haroon also said, during this time he had a good relationship with India to the United Nations Envoy Hardeep Singh Puri(rhs)
