TRIPOLI – provisional Government of Libya that are now held by the National Transition Council (NTC) acknowledged the arrest of Khadafi Mutassim. Mutassim Khadafi was the son of a former leader of Libya Muammar Khadafi.
"Khadafi Mutassim arrested in Sirte and it's been moved to Benghazi. We're not announcing the arrest of this before, in order to avoid the effort of the family or followers tried to free him, "according to a spokesman for the Council the NTC Abdelkarim Bizama AFPwas quoted as saying, Thursday (1/10/2011).
After news of the arrests spread, citizens Mutassim anti-live joyfully with Khadafi opened fire into the air at Tripoli and Misrata.
Born in 1975, Khadafi Mutassim held the position as national security adviser. He is best known for the soldier and doctor careers and is regarded as a rival of his brother Seif al-Islam in an attempt to change the position of his father.
Mutassim arrest certainly incited optimistic from the NTC to continue to capture the remnants of power Khadafi. Now, the Government continues to attempt to capture the Saif al-Islam which is rumored to be in the city of Bani Walid.
The NTC also forces continue to hunt down a partially Khadafi who is still in flight. The former ruler who stepped down last September, is believed to be under the protection of his son Saif.
The NTC has said it is currently still continue to comb the area of Sirte which was the hometown of Khadafi. They claim the fall of the city remained a matter of time.
"All our forces are preparing Center. Territory (Sirte) as it's already beleaguered. We will kill them (loyalist forces Khadafi) as soon as possible. Everything is set up, "said a soldier NTC.(faj)
