Philippines Arrest Terrorist Abu Sayyaf Members

MANILA- Police officers of the Philippines said it had arrested a man who allegedly is the network of militant Abu Sayyaf group affiliated with Al Qaeda. The group is known for often doing the kidnapping of a number of foreigners, especially tourists United States (u.s.) and Europe.

"A fishmonger with named Abdulhan Ussih was arrested after we perform reconnaissance for three months in the Southern Zamboanga City," said a senior police official Superintendent Generoso Bonifacio as cited the Associated Press Wednesday (15/2/2012).

Bonifacio said, Ussih has denied his involvement with the Abu Sayyaf kidnapping group as well as of a number of US and European tourists. Along with the usual suspects, police also found a number of money or some Rp696 USD77 thousand million (USD 9.043 per USD).

Militant group Al Qaeda has been known to often defied the kidnapping of a number of European tourists.

In the year 2000 and three foreign tourists abducted in origin AS a resort in Sipadan Malaysia Meanwhile in 2001, approximately 17 Filipinos were also abducted in the Dos Palmas Resort.(rhs)
