Contrast: violence in Syria

JAKARTA- Commission for missing persons and victims of Violence (CONTRAST) said it condemned the acts of violence in Syria which has killed thousands of civilians.

"The Government urges Indonesia to Contrast shows the contributions that more real through a variety of diplomatic efforts. We ask the active involvement of Indonesia in a variety of multilateral forums such as the UN HUMAN RIGHTS Council and the Organization of cooperation of Islamic countries (OIC) in order to suppress the violence being stopped have been going on for 11 months in Syria. Nevertheless the contrast in his written statement delivered to Okezone Thursday, (16/2/2012).

Meanwhile the previous Government of Indonesia through the statement of Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa had urged the Government of Syria to stop acts of violence and murder against civilians in Syria.

Foreign Minister Natalegawa was also asked the Government to resolve the crisis that Syria happening in that country through the political process, in order to avoid the fall of more fatalities among the civilians.

Government of Indonesia itself has embarked on a process of gradual evacuation of Indonesia Citizen (WNI) residing in Syria.

Around 37 CHILD(REN) which consists of 19 Students, along with his family, 17 as the Stylist TKI home appliances (PLRT) as well as 1 TKI have arrived in Jakarta on today.

The escalation of violence that took place in Syria are reported to be higher in the last few days, following increasing attacks against Government forces nor the opposition that wants to be President of Syria Bashar al-Assad soon resigned from his post.(rhs)
