-Fireworks Bother Flights in the Philippines

MANILA-The Party welcomed the turn of the new year held festive almost throughout the world was left folk story poignantly for the Philippines.

A Filipino official said, there were at least 476 people wounded by hit by firecrackers and Fireworks. Earlier, the Philippine Government says, has been conducting a campaign regarding the dangers of firecrackers and fireworks on new year's celebrations.

Explosion of firecrackers and fireworks are coloring the celebration of new year's Eve not only hurt hundreds of people, but also interfere with some flight schedule in the Philippines.

"Some flights diverted or cancelled after smoke coming from the explosion of firecrackers are considered dangerous to the flight," said Health Minister Enrique Ona was quoted as saying Associated Press, Week, (01/01/2011).

Further explaining, 454 Ona people wounded by firecrackers, 18 people due to a stray bullet hit and 4 other people accidentally swallow small firecrackers or explosive powders. Most of the victims were children.

The number of victims injured in new year 2012 are still lower than last year, but this reduces the Government's concerns. (kha)
