DAMASCUS — Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab countries have a meeting today to discuss whether to involve the United Nations (UN) to help the Mission of observers to the Arab League Team in Syria. Before the Parliament of the Arab League called for observer team drawn from Syria. The team failed to perform its mission observer valued end to the violence in Syria.
Discourse to involve the UN come from the Government of Qatar. Qatar proposed that the Arab League involving the UN workers in the field of human rights to help perform monitoring whether Syria is acting in accordance with its commitment to end the violence.
"Syria is not adhering to the initiative of the Arab League and the team monitors can't stay in Syria, it's just a waste of time. Syria's army is never completely withdrawn and murders continue to occur, "said the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani was quoted as saying The Jerussalem Post, Friday, (8/1/2012).
Meanwhile, a source at the Arab League said, the Secretary of State likely will continue to support the existence of the monitoring team in Syria, and denied that the mission statement of the supervisory team failed.
"No need to rush to drop this mission verdict," said the head of the Monitoring Team, Adnan al-Khudeir in Cairo. He also added a team of monitors is still gained the support of the Arab League.
Violent incidents occurred the last time in Syria last Friday when a suicide bombers exploded and killed 26 people in Damascus. Syria's Government promised to immediately crumple to the incident.
The death toll following the violent action is expected to continue to grow in Syria after the arrival of the team of observers to the Arab League in the country. Earlier the UN predicts approximately 5000 people were killed, but this number is likely to continue to increase.
