Myanmar agreed on a ceasefire with Rebels

NAYPYIDAW -the Government of Myanmar agreed to a cease-fire beginning with the rebels who are ethnic Shan in Burmese society.

That ceasefire agreement diteken on Friday between the Government of Myanmar and Shan Forces South.

To date, there has been no confirmation yet from the Government of Myanmar-related issues of a cease-fire. So as AFP, proclaimed Saturday (3/12/2011).

Currently, the guerrillas of the Shan had agreed to a ceasefire, however the process of negotiation is rumored to be continued with the Central Government of Myanmar.

Shan is one of the powerful ethnic group in Myanmar, they had many troops stationed in border areas of Myanmar and Thailand.

Residents of the generally embraced Shan Buddhism, is the second largest ethnic group in Myanmar, the Shan ethnic group seized the nine percent of the population of Myanmar.

In addition there are also ethnic Shan, Karen, who also did the rebellion against the Government of Myanmar.

The ceasefire is also one of the developments in Myanmar towards the direction of democracy. Because of this ethnic insurgency problem is one of the crucial problems faced by the middle of Myanmar.

The war between the forces of Myanmar and the rebels have also been swallowing casualties is not a bit.(rhs)
