JAKARTA -Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa finally arrives in Myanmar to conduct an inspection arrangements prospective Asean Chairman.
Visit of Foreign Minister RI to Myanmar, which is the mandate of the Asean Foreign Minister, made in order to find out the development and readiness of Myanmar as Asean Chairman 2014.
Foreign Minister arrived in Myanmar on October 28, 2011 and will return to Jakarta on October 30, 2011. Such as quoted from, from the written description in Jakarta, Saturday (29/10/2011).
On his first day of the visit, the Foreign Minister have a meeting and dialogue with the Chairman of Komnas HAM U Min Wra member, Chairman of the Assembly and Presidential Advisor (Ko Hlaing) and its members, as well as civic groups Figure 11 Myanmar consisting of NGOS, business associations and the media, as well as the actuator HAM.
Each meeting has been held with great openness. In the meeting had been discussed among others the development of reform and democratization in Myanmar, the possibility of bilateral cooperation in these fields and views of the parties regarding the demand for Myanmar to be Chairman of the Asean 2014.
On the second day of the visit, the Foreign Minister was scheduled to meet with Marty Natalegawa, Chairman of the President of Parliament and Chairman of the National Assembly, Foreign Minister and other Ministers associated with the three pillars of the Asean community. Meeting four eyes with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in Yangon is also scheduled to take place on October 30, 2011.
Myanmar has previously submitted a request to occupy the position of Chairman of the Asean sooner than scheduled, beginning in 2016 to be in 2014 replace Laos.
