Asean-India Discussed the cooperation of agriculture and forestry

PALEMBANG -nine Asean countries and India held a meeting to discuss cooperation in agriculture and forestry in Palembang, 6-8 March 2012 in Palembang.
This meeting was named the Asean-India Working Group on Agriculture and Forestry (AIWGAF). Nine countries namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam, Indonesia, and India.

According to the Governor of South Sumatra, Alex Noerdin 2nd meeting AIWGAF is the immediacy and reciprocal favourable among Asean countries, with India, especially India is developing countries that have advanced in the field of economy.

"We hope with this meeting could face challenges in food security sector, the replacement of technology and information in research and development in agriculture and forestry," said Alex Noerdin, in his speech, Tuesday (6/3/2012).

Said Alex, this meeting was the importance of the agenda of the Asean-India plan 2012-2015 because basically Asean countries-India equally had komplementari results and comparative disektor of agriculture, forestry, including also the fishing industry.

"Judi must jelly, and we should take this opportunity in the fields of agriculture, plantations. This meeting is a continuation of the commitment of the leadership of the countries in the Asean-India Summit in Bali in 2011, "he said.

Meanwhile the Secretary General of the Ministry of agriculture, Priyono said a few things that need to be explored in a meeting of the Asean-India exchange of experts in the fields of agriculture and forestry.

"How can do advanced farmers in Indonesia and other Asean countries or do an internship within one season for studying the problems of food safety, fisheries and forestry plantations as well as this," said day.

According to day, India is a country that is important to Indonesia especially in the area of plantations, forestry and fisheries. Because it has a very rapid technological advances.

"India is a very large market for Indonesia, because most of the export oil Indonesia is also addressed to India, in the fields of agriculture, India has had a very rapid progress, especially in the field of industrial agriculture," she continued.
