LONDON -more than 40 people were reported injured and several people were killed as a result of the collision of a truck and car sequence in Somerset, United Kingdom. As many as 27 vehicles is rumored to have a collision in the incident.
Local television showed footage of a collision between a car and a container truck which occurred on Friday at 20.30 local time. After the collision took place, the flames were visible. So as AFP, proclaimed Saturday (5/11/2011).
The truck burst into flames trapping the rest of the passengers who remained in the car. The passenger vehicles seemed to be trying to save himself from his vehicle. A witness said the explosion was heard, after the accident took place. He also saw the wreckage of vehicles and some of the victims who fell in the streets.
Dozens of members of the fire engines running and attempt to rescue the victims of the crash. Police also shut down the motor and will not open the line for 24 hours in advance.
"More than 40 people were reported injured and they were taken to hospital," said firefighter Paul Slaven.
"Around 10 people was in critical condition," he added.
A motorist describe this incident as a terrible event. He also said it had never seen an event like this.(rhs)
