Flood victims Viet Nam continue to grow So 43 Inhabitants

HANOI -flood Disasters which hit Viet Nam continues to cause the death toll keeps growing. Flooding in the Mekong River delta, is currently rumored to lead to the number of people who died rose to 43.

The Government says most of the fatalities were children. The Government added, flooding caused 70,000 home residents drown. So reported Associated Press, Thursday (1/10/2011).

The flooding that hit since last August, has led to a deterioration of infrastructure and land belonging to local citizens. The high water level, as well as forcing 234.000 students are not allowed to attend the activities of teaching and learning in schools.

Estimated new floods will shrink in late October. While over land belonging to the paddy fields 6.900 hectares of heavily damaged due to a pool of water.

Viet Nam itself is known as the second largest exporter of rice paddy fields and areas in the Mekong River delta, making rice meet half of the country's rice production.

Total losses due to floods is reported to have reached over USD55 million or approximately Rp489,9 billion (USD 8.883 per USD).

The flooding that occurred in Viet Nam also led to similar disasters in Thailand and Cambodia. Floods caused by monsoon winds that triggered heavy rain in the third country.

Flooding in Thailand is currently rumored to have killed more than 250 citizens. The flooding also killed roughly 167 residents in Cambodia. Floods in three Southeast Asian countries are also already gobbled up more than 500 casualties.
